MEET BLACBRIK
BlacBrik started before we even knew its name. Ten years ago in NYC, Nahum McLean and Darius Drooh found movement in each other’s ideas. Over time, our paths crossed and split, until we both landed in London, where the vision became clear.
BlacBrik is about breaking form, breaking expectations, and expanding where and how dance is experienced. Our work moves between theatre, film, and live performance, exploring movement in ways that feel relevant, engaging, and open.
DARIUS DROOH
📍 San Francisco, CA
Darius trained under Elvia Marta at the San Francisco School of the Arts before refining his craft at The Edge Performing Arts Center under Bill Prudich and Randy Allure. His talent earned him full scholarships to The Ailey School, Perry Mansfield Performing Arts School, and Anthony Burrell’s Breaking Barriers program. He has performed throughout New York City, LA and is currently a cast member of The Lion King on the West End.

NAHUM MCLEAN
📍 Manchester, UK
Nahum McLean’s career moves across contemporary dance, commercial theatre, and film, shaped by training and performances that have taken him from the UK to Havana, New York, and London.
His training began in the UK, before studying in Havana, Cuba with Ballet Laura Alonso. He later earned The Alvin Ailey Scholarship Award at The Ailey School (NYC), during this time performing with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and Harambee Dance Company. He has also worked as an assistant for Dr. George Faison.
